Measuring Our Impact

Hampton Roads Vegfest is an annual event that promotes healthy, sustainable, and eco-friendly living through a plant-based lifestyle. As a certified Virginia Green event, Hampton Roads Vegfest takes measures to reduce its environmental impact and prioritize sustainability.

The event features local and national vendors, speakers, vegan cooking demonstrations, and live music. All vendors at the event are required to use compostable or recyclable packaging, and food waste is collected for composting. Water stations are available to encourage the use of reusable water bottles instead of single-use plastic bottles. In addition, the event works with local waste management services to properly dispose of all waste generated at the event.

Hampton Roads Vegfest also encourages attendees to use alternative transportation to reduce carbon emissions. Bike racks and designated bike parking areas are available, and public transportation options are promoted to reduce the number of cars on the road.

We strive to be a great example of a sustainable and eco-friendly event that promotes healthy living and supports local businesses in Southeast Virginia.
